Flawless soft skin, with the perfect tan are definitely the ‘must have’ look for those who love the sun and the summer.

But what is the secret to beautiful looking skin and how can you create that “girl from Ipanema” look?

It might just be easier than you think by following some these simple but effective tips:

10 tips to make our summer tan last longer:

  1. Invest in good moisturizing creams: Use creams that contain high level of vitamins such as hyaluronic acid.  

  2. Drink lots of water: Keeping your skin hydrated is key and the ideal intake per day is at least 2 liters of water per day.  

  3. Avoid baths that are too hot: Take a bath with cold or lukewarm water and do not use hard brushes as they remove natural oils of the skin 

  4. Avoid products that contain water: They end up making the skin even more dry. 

  5. Eat fruits: Invest in fruits that contain polyphenols, such as grapes, blueberries and red fruits. The substances in these foods have antioxidant and anticarcinogenic activity that help protect the skin from the effects of UV radiation.

  6. Look for foods that contain beta-carotene: carrot, sweet potato and broccoli are great examples of this type of foods, as they stimulate the production of melanin, the skin's natural pigment. It works as an intrinsic protection.

  7.  Use thermal water: Ideally use the same in the face and body, as they always get extra dry after leaving the sea or swimming pool. 

  8. Avoid Waxing: The hot wax in direct contact to the skin can cause dark patches on the skin. 

  9. Keep up your exfoliation routine: Mainly on the face, once or twice a week to eliminate dead cells.

  10. Avoid laser treatments: Take care of skin blemishes when performing chemical and laser treatments.
